The design of the GCD-700 multi-disk CD player combines ADCOM's legendary engineering expertise with the newest analog and digital technologies available today. The entire audio circuit operates in pure Class "A" and employs ADCOM's proprietary operational amplifiers. This Class "A" design ensures the lowest levels of noise and distortion by avoiding the continuous turn-on and turn-off sequences of the audio circuit transistors. The power supply in the GCD-700 starts with two transformers, one for the analog stages and one for the digital circuitry. In addition, more than 10, 000µF of storage capacitance along with separating the analog and digital power supplies, allow for optimum operation. Compact discs with surface imperfections from fingerprints or scratches make much greater demands from the tracking servos and error correction circuits. These digital stage demands would compromise the dynamic range of the audio section in CD players with smaller power supplies.??The most prominent new technology use... |
