More Information
Details: The SL-S261C player ups the Anti-Shock ante with ASM II. This enhanced chip set corrects horizontal shocks (those that occur in the plane of disc rotation), which cause the disc to momentarily spin faster or slower. This frees up the full capacity of the memory buffer to deal with tracking errors caused by vertical shocks. Memory capacity for this model is 10 seconds of music, so playback should continue smoothly in the most adverse conditions. The player will deliver up to 25 hours of playback on two AA alkaline batteries. There's no longer a need to be stingy with either the number of discs you bring along or the use of ASM II. Intended for the car as well as portable use, the SL-S261C comes with a DC power cord and a cassette adaptor, which lets users channel CD music through their car's audio system. Emphasizing its utility in the car, this model also features a backlit LCD for easy visibility in the dark, and a heat resistant polycarbonate body.
