Want some muscle in your mini? The MHC-RXD9 is Sony's contender among heavy hittin' compact systems. A pair of 6-inch woofers and the watts to move them distinguishes the RXD9 -- 140 watts per channel, to be precise. The Sony system has a pair of 6-inch woofers, but there's no crossover to divide them. The frequency response of the RXD9 still gets down to 45 Hz, though, certainly low enough to rumble some screen doors.Aside from sheer power, the RXD9 has some convenience perks typical of Sony. A five-band equalizer allows you to sculpt its sound and save the settings in any of five memory slots. A jog dial makes repeated button presses unnecessary when selecting tracks or radio stations.A few less utilitarian functions have been included for the gadget-happy. A cool "dual-layer" display gives you a frenetic spectrum analyzer on one layer and vital numbers on another. |
