Toshiba's M785 VCR has everything a VHS junkie craves, and then some. Although it can't record in the S-VHS format, the six heads in this model make standard VHS look as good as it possibly can. For starters, its V3 head drum, similar to drums used on the best pro decks, makes for a marked improvement in picture quality. 19-micron heads ensure recordings made at six hour EP speed will rival the quality of two hour SP video. The M785 also adds digital noise reduction and color signal enhancement circuits to remove video noise and improve sharpness. The VCR Plus+ C3 with DSS and cable box control makes it easy to set up for recording, regardless of source. Toshiba's quad-mode shuttle control gives you easy access to frame-by-frame advance, still, reverse slow and play, and the rest. The auto clock-set function receives time signals carried by many PBS stations.
