Details: Instead of using agents, GEICO markets directly to customers. Originally those customers were exclusively government workers. In 1958, the company began serving other customers as well. In 1980 it became the first insurer to provide 24-hour customer service. Each week, over 10,000 drivers switch to GEICO Direct.
