More Information
Details: Producers include: White Zombie, Filter, Polly Jean Harvey, Tricky, The Gravediggaz, Paul Leary, NY Loose, Iggy Pop, Pet. Includes liner notes by Jeff Conner. White Zombie's performance of "I'm Your Boogieman" was nominated for a 1997 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance. CITY OF ANGELS, the sequel to the comicbook-inspired 1994 cult film THE CROW, tells the story of Ashe, who rises from the dead, after being murdered, with the mythical powers of the Crow. The soundtrack reflects the film's passion and darkness with a powerful lineup of punk- and goth-inspired musicians. Iggy Pop, who stars as the film's anti-hero (and who was the darling of movie soundtracks in 1996), offers a live "I Wanna Be Your Dog," White Zombie does a quirky take on K.C. & The Sunshine Band's "I'm Your Boogieman," and Hole goes moody in its rendition of Fleetwood Mac's "Gold Dust Woman." This is a dark and brooding compilation, and also a thoughtful and worthwhile one.
