| Details: |
Includes previously unreleased tracks and b-sides. Recorded between 2000 & 2003. Broken Social Scene: Dave Newfeld, Emily Haines, Jason Collett, Kevin Drew, Ohad Benchetrit, Justin Peroff, Andrew Whiteman, Charles Spearin, Jessica Moss, Leslie Feist, Brendan Canning. Recording information: Rak Studios, London, England (06/2001-10/2003); Some School Of The Arts (06/2001-10/2003); Th' Schvitz (06/2001-10/2003). In the wake of their breakthrough album, YOU FORGOT IT IN PEOPLE, Toronto's Broken Social Scene released this compilation of B-sides, alternate versions, and previously unreleased songs. Fans dreading a mixed bag of lo-fi thrashing and half-finished demos can relax, as this collection coheres in a nicely mellow way that shows how the pop brilliance of PEOPLE connects to the largely instrumental outing FEEL GOOD LOST. Most of the music here consists of multi-guitar drone, burbling synths, and live drum breaks, a combination that makes the Scene one of the more lovely and accessible post-rock outfits.... |
