Experimental rock outfit His Name Is Alive had been making music for over 10 years by the time 2002's LAST NIGHT appeared, sounding like a culmination of their beautifully crafted dream pop, albeit with an earthy, soulful bent. In fact, the album bears the deep influence of gospel, soul, jazz, funk, and R&B, from the intricate, pulsing arrangements to the cool vocals of singer Lovetta Pippen.
