Though Tori Amos's 1992 five-track EP, CRUCIFY, is made up primarily of cover songs, it is still a highly recommended work for her fans. A piano-based, tranquil reworking of Nirvana's teen-angst anthem "Smells Like Teen Spirit" remains Tori's best-known cover song, while versions of the Rolling Stones' "Angie" and Led Zeppelin's "Thank You" are solid ballads as well. Also included is one of Amos' most beautiful originals, "Winter," plus a remixed version of the title track, which is shorter than the original and adds more guitars to the mix. |
