To mark the 10th anniversary of the progressive metal band Tool's remarkable sophomore album, 1996's AENIMA, the String Quartet Tribute organization rearranged the set in classical mode, resulting in a lower-key, yet in its own way equally intense, listening experience. Here the quartet (in this instance an octet) transforms the uncompromising "Stinkfist" into a dissonant modern classical piece, while "Die Eier Von Satan" benefits from an intriguing, distinctly avant-garde treatment. |
