Big Head Todd & The Monsters: Todd Park Mohr (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Rob Squires (bass, background vocals); Brian Nevin (drums, percussion, background vocals). Additional personnel: Jevetta Steele (vocals); David Z (guitar, percussion); Leo Kottke (guitar); Bruce McCabe (piano). Recorded at Paisley Park Recording Studios, Minneapolis, Minnesota from June to August 1992. Issued in 1993, Big Head Todd & the Monsters' major-label debut, SISTER SWEETLY, considerably expanded the adult-alternative band's local Colorado following. Thanks to the successful singles "Broken Hearted Savior" and "Bittersweet," both of which showcased frontman Todd Park Mohr's raspy vocals and keen sense of melody, the group garnered national attention and soon followed up with STRATEGEM, which cracked the Billboard Top 40. |
