Details: The extraordinary true story of Varian Fry, a young American who set off for Germany in 1941 with a list containing the name of over 200 prominent artists and intellectuals being tracked down by the German SS. His intention: to help these targets of Nazi persecution escape into neutral territories. By the end of the war he had saved over 2,000 people, including Marc Chagall, Max Ernst, Andre Breton, and Marcel Duchamp.
