Opposites are proven to attract in Joan Micklin Silver's (HESTER STREET) romantic comedy of middle-aged romance. Mike Finnegan (Robert Preston) is a newspaper man who has dropped down to advice columnist for the broken hearted, a readership who he often turns off with his increasingly jaded tips. He strikes up a conversation one day with Liz (Mary Tyler Moore), who is so shrouded in death that she is stuck in a lifeless relationship with a mortician. Liz is a listener and Mike needs someone to talk to sparking an unlikely romance that turns their lives around. |
