| After 15 years of design continuity, Mazda plans to completely revise its popular convertible for the 2006 model year. It's believed that the new Miata will share sheet metal, and perhaps even its platform with the RX-8. The traditional soft top could even be replaced by a power-folding metal hardtop, adding to the belief that the 2006 Miata could end up being a heftier car than any of its lithe predecessors. The revised model will probably be powered by Mazda's 2.3-liter inline four-cylinder. The company is also likely to offer a MazdaSpeed version. |
