The CT-27D11's picture tube is dark-tinted (Panasonic calls it PanaBlack) for enhanced contrast; this is becoming a common feature in all sets, large and small. Panasonic's Game Guard lets you block channels (the ones used by video game consoles) and all video inputs for 12, 24 or 48 hours. Variable audio output lets you hook up the TV to your A/V receiver and still be able to control the volume with the TV's remote control, while MTS and SAP reception let you enjoy stereo and foreign-language broadcasts.
