Details: The San Jacinto Battleground Park encompasses the site of the 18-minute military event that concluded the Texas Revolution in 1836: General Sam Houston defeated Mexican President Santa Anna, making way for major westward expansion of the United States. Today the locations of the Texan and Mexican camps are marked for visitors, who can also explore Santa Anna Bayou, and The San Jacinto Museum of History within the 570-foot San Jacinto monument.
