What is the "right shinguard"?

Shinguards, shinguards, shinguards. How does one pick a shinguard? Its best to get the opinion from someone who knows the game...like me. Here's what I recommend.
For Small Children: The brand really doesn't matter. The chance of the kids getting bruised or cut when they're 5 or 6 is very slim. You want the child to be comfortable. Find a soft, fabric shinguard that fits the child (isn't too big). The kid will have a great time if he is comfortable.
For Youths: I recommend the fabric shinguards w/ the ankle padding and support. The size gap between the players may increase and injury could result. Again, make sure the youth is comfortable. Adidas and Patrick make excellent youth guards. For the sophisticated youth, try Parker First Shield OSI shinguards. These are molded shinguards (mostly used by teens/adults) that shape to your leg. The Parker shinguards come in youth sizes but I only recommend this for the competitive youth.
For teens: OSI is the way to go. Molded shinguards w/separate ankle pads are quite popular these days. The mold to fit works great and provide much more padding than fabric ones. The teens encounter harder blows to the leg as the players increase the power of their kick. A good acessory is the Sleeve. The Sleeve holds the shinguard in place.
For Adults: Unless you are playing college or pro, the guard shouldn't matter, most adults play for fun, so injury is at a low. If you play college or pro I suggest going with the Adidas or Nike OSI molded guards.
