Tennis Elbow: The forearm disease
Jul 16 '00
What is tennis elbow? Well actually tennis elbow does not even effect your elbow at all it is really all throughout your forearm. It is a sort of tendentious. There are many ways to prevent tennis elbow.
I find the best way to prevent tennis elbow is to strengthen up your forearms with excersises. One device that I found useful is called the Grip Master. There are many devices like this it is used to strengthen your forearm and your fingers in your hands. Each finger works a different part of your forearm strengthening the muscle and tendon thus leading to the prevention of tennis elbow.
Now vibration in the racquet could lead to tennis elbow as well but it is not the big factor, usually you would add a shock absorber or different strings. I find if you’re using a heavy racquet go for the new titanium ones out on the market they are light and have little vibration.
If you have tennis elbow make sure to put on braces and such to help you get through the pain if you continue to play. I suggest a week off and ice your arm where it hurts and stuff doing wrist excersises. Make sure you minimize your activity in that arm for 1 week. After that you should start strengthening it back up again.
There is no one solution for preventing and curing tennis elbow, but those are some ways in which you can try.
