| rebeccad's Full Review: Champion Full Support Bra |
I bought this bra when I started running again after my first son was born. I was breast-feeding, and needed more support than my usual sports bras (and a larger size). After giving the college-aged male clerk at the running store a case of terminal embarrassment by responding to his polite inquiry about my needs by telling him I needed a "killer bra for a breast-feeding mother" (he said something like "I don't think I can help you" and slithered away quickly), I picked this out of the selection for several reasons:
1) Total motion control. This is a zero-bounce bra for larger-breasted runners.
2) Back fastener. I've usually avoided these, but didn't care for the idea of stretching a bra over often-sensitive breasts.
3) High adjustability. It has at least 3 hook positions, which means that it accommodated the gradual changes in both breast and torso size as I lost those extra pounds.
4) Looks. This is decent enough to let me shed my shirt when the running gets really hot.
All of these points proved to be valid in my experience. In addition, I found the bra very durable. I wore it through about 9 months of running then, and another 6 or so after my second son was born, with very little evidence of wear. In fact, the back fastener prevents one problem I've had with many sport bras: stitches often pop on the seam around the bottom when I are pulling them on over my head. Maybe I have a big head (actually, it's the shoulders that do it), but I have done this to nearly every pull-on bra I own. Since this one doesn't go over the head, you don't stress it that way.
When I stopped needing quite so much bra, I passed this on to a friend. As far as I know, it's still working fine. This was my one look at what running is like for the larger-breasted woman, and I found this bra a pretty good response. It's big, it gets hot sometimes, but by gum, it did the job.
