I can't remember how long ago I became obsessed with the cowboys but I did.I just remember that Charlie Waters was my brothers best friend growing up here in this little town that I live in. If anyone knows about the boys they will remember Charlie Waters. The best safety that ever was besides Bill Bates. Charlie was number 41 and he was with the best of Americas team so they tagged that on the cowboys and who am I to argue.
Charlie was at my house all the time and I was to young to even know what a superstar he was going to be. I was to young to even think that I would get this crazy over football. Long story short he went to Clemson and shined and the Cowboys drafted him quickly. My mother was watching him on TV and I got interested, that was when the boys were good. I missed a large part of Charlies years but I was hooked on the cowboys.I watched them when they had Roger Stauback and Tony and the fearsome foursome. Tom was the man in the hat. He had been there since the team was.
Well they were sucking after awhile and I knew that and so did the team so in comes the major A hole Jerry Jones and decides to buy the team but had no respect for Tom in letting him know that he no longer had a job. He knew that this team was going to be there one day and I give him credit for that and thanks to his deep pocket he got the best. He got my man Troy and Emmitte and Michael, the play maker. But at a cost of losing before rebuilding and that was hard for me. To see my boys win one game out of 16 and then the next yr see them win 3 out of 16. But I knew it was coming, they were young and I am not a fare weather fan and I stuck with them after many miller lites and cussing.
And then it happened. They were just to good. Went to 3 superbowls in 4 years.. task unknown to football teams. Well to say the least I was a happy camper. Now that Michael is out (damn that astro turf) we have sucked but,have always made the playoffs no matter what.
We know have Joey Galloway and Ismal( ain't he great) but minus Deion who is now with the the Redskins whom I hate . Hope they paid him well for that damn broke toe. It will be hard to watch the boys and skins with Deion on the other team. I loved him but like Ken Norton he left and that made me sad. Nate Newton left too, but we still have Leon Lett if he will quit smoking pot. If Darryl Strawberry can still play baseball so can Leon Lett.
I am a true blue fan and will never alter. Love the Atanta Falcons that is true but ask my friends who will not watch a cowboy game with me because I get so mad or so happy,it is best I watch them alone. If you came into my house you would know right off the bat that I am a boys fan.
It is so known that at work my co-workers give me hell if they lose which they have done to many times, but hey I have high hopes and they are the riches franchise in the NFL. I do not like Jerry Jones but I thank him for what he did with the team.
He never should have never made Jimmy mad. Jimmy Johnson, he made the team what it is today!!
