Scary. Beautiful, but Scary.

There's something insane and just fundamentally scary about how good this company is. Several weeks ago, Washington D.C. shut down as a violent nor'easter dropped fifteen inches of snow across the MidAtlantic. The only cars I saw on the road belonged to the fire department... and Kozmo.com.
Right now, Kozmo.com's home-delivery-in-under-an-hour internet delivery service is available in 5 major urban areas: Washington, New York, San Fran, Chicago, and somewhere I always forget. Perhaps Boston. It's true that their web site isn't as fluidly organized as it COULD be. Sure, we can't all be Amazon. But the bottom line is that the prices are competitive with any internet reseller, if not better than most of them. The opportunities for the lazy consumer are phenomenal (check out the Ben & Jerry's stash when you're ordering that new Counting Crows CD). And the service is just incredible. My housemate holds the house record, for having Kozmo deliver to him click-to-door in 18 minutes.
The customer service is also out to make friends of all of us. When their database had some problems one Friday night a few weeks ago, Kozmo lost my Friday night order and it never came. I had hardly noticed, as other festivities were fast underway. But the next morning I had a voice mail from Kozmo: we lost your order as our database went down. We're sorry. We're going to send it over ASAP with some free donuts, ice cream, and some Kozmo credit. To make a long story short, not only did I get all of that, but a hat and some microwave popcorn to boot. So maybe I'm a college student and a product of corporate marketing. So maybe I'm doing them more business with this one review than they need to make up for paying for some donuts and a hat. But I'm glad to do that, because I LOVE THIS COMPANY.
Video Rentals. Video Game rentals. DVD rentals. All of the above to buy, plus $9.99 CD's, lots of yummy junk food, and tampons if you're in the mood. What else could we ask for? Nay, I do not know.
