Last March my fiance and I began looking for a new home. We knew we should get a bank's preapproval to insure we would qualify for the home we wanted. I called GMAC Mortgage Corp and within 24 hours they had us preapproved!
We were very lucky in that the second home we looked at was the home for us. I called GMACMC to let them know we had made an offer that had been accepted. They then proceeded to send the paperwork through the mail and our originator and underwriter couldn't have been better. They were both knowledgable and always helpful.
I have had to call the Customer Service department a few times. I have found them to just as helpful. GMACMC also has an automated service to allow you to check balances 24 hours a day.
The only downside to this is that GMACMC does not allow you to check information online. This is unfortunate and hopefully, it will change soon. It would be great if we could make online payments.
I would recommend GMAC to anyone looking for a mortgage.
