Pros: A city of rare beauty and history, a great tour also. Cons: Mighty hard to do this tour in a short time. Cold is not good.
Being a historian, I have wanted to see Boston for many years. Recently, I lucked up to be assigned to work a conference in Boston and planned my schedule to arrive the day before set up. Thinking that I might have enough time to go to Quincy and visit ...

Pros: Great city enriched in history Cons: Cost of living and housing.
I am writing from the perspective of a transplant and a former tourist. Boston in its size is very small compared to other cities like NY, Chicago, Los Angeles or Houston. This is in part because when the Boston city lines "were drawn" the did not ...

Pros: Unique finds in Boston shopping scene. Good deals are to found. Cons: Not all pieces are easy to wear, but are interesting nevertheless.
I do not consider myself a great shopper, but a seasoned shopper. Born and raised in Southern California, it is difficult to imagine a better shopping scene. Having gone to college in Ithaca, NY, it is difficult to imagine a worse one. (Needless to ...

Pros: A city of major historical significance, lots of haunted locations Cons: There's never enough time to see everything
The 62nd World Science Fiction Convention (aka Worldcon 62) may have been what prompted me to go to Boston in September 2004, but as a big fan of ghost folklore and history, along with some genealogical ties, I had plenty of other secondary reasons for ...

Pros: Everything Cons: Parking, Driving, Weather, Expensive stuff
One day I will eventually leave Boston, with the thought back in my mind that I will never get the comfort nor the familiarity I have with the area. I don't know where I'm going to end up since I'm still playing that over in my head, but Boston is a ...

Pros: beautiful, smart, captivating, historical Cons: not for the tourist who hates being on their feet!
Boston and its history stuffed surroundings must be like Mecca for American history buffs. It would be very hard to find one location with so densely packed with historical sites and points of interest. Not only does the city have history, but you don't ...

Pros: A fabulous combination of my favourite themes - architecture, history, politics and fish. Cons: Too few public phones and a quixotic approach to street signage.
Here’s an old rhyme about Boston I’d like to share with you: Welcome to good old Boston The home of the beans and the cod Where the Lowells speak only to Cabots And the Cabots speak only to God. Doesn't augur well, does it? A city boasting of ...

Pros: Diversity in cuisine, atmosphere and style Cons: Non-existent or hard to find parking. Better to take the "T".
After getting married I was transplanted from a small town in MN to the "metropolis" of Boston. Besides getting used to skyscrapers I also enjoyed sampling the variety of food you can find in larger towns. Here I'll list a few of my favorites from 2 ...

Pros: A great city with history, lots to do and a great transit system. Cons: Some say the traffic....and driving....
Rather than listing the usual places, I am going to go for the lesser known things to do, some of which are more known, some are unheard of! Boston on Mothers Day or any day is a fantastic city.
What should I do here:...

Pros: Variety of things to do Cons: traffic
I don't live too far from Boston, but I had never been. On my first trip I was amazed. I thought the whole town would be littered and dirty because of the large amount of people that visit it, but it was extremely clean. The town is beautiful, and there...
