Don't overlook the obvious: Priceline

Jun 25 '00

My fiancee and I met on the internet; and before he moved to New York with me, I was constantly flying to San Francisco. I flew 5 times in two months, and on my student's budget Priceline was a true blessing. I could only pay about 200 dollars a ticket, and Priceline found me a flight every time.
One night, at 3 AM, I decided I wanted to go to San Francisco the following day, got on Priceline right then, and in an hour was booked on Delta for the day I wanted. Because I bought the ticket the day before I left, I was curious how much it would have cost through a travel agent, so I checked the price on Expedia. My flight cost 1978.00, and Priceline had saved me almost 1700 dollars!
If you offer a semi reasonable price, priceline will match it. If they can't match it, they will email you with the lowest price they can get a ticket for. Then you can decide whether you want to buy it at that price.
Priceline how offers a variety of services, which I haven't tried, but they are awesome when it comes to plane tickets. The only possible problem I have found is that you need a credit card to purchase the tickets, and if you don't have one, you can't use the website. Basically, this is a fast, reliable way of getting great fares on flights. I would highly recommend it.
