I Have Discovered the Magic
Feb 10 '00
Of the four theme parks at Walt Disney World, the Magic Kingdom is my favorite. It has to be the happiest and most magical place on earth. Although I have been there many times with my family, I always get goose bumps as "I'm Walking Right Down the Middle of Main Street, USA". The sight of the enormous and magical Cinderella's Castle at the end of the street, just blows me away every time. Even though I'm a 39 year old Mom, I revert back to my childhood each and every time we visit.
The Magic Kingdom is made up of seven different unique areas, each with it's own theme and appropriate rides, attractions and entertainment. There is Fantasyland, Frontierland, Tomorrowland, Adventureland, Liberty Square, Main Street and Mickey's Toon Town Fair. Each one of the areas has something that will surely delight anyone, no matter what age. The attention to detail and wonderful landscaping throughout the Kingdom makes for some of the most extraordinary photographs. The music continuously playing in each area truly enhances home videos as well as your mood!
For very young children, the elderly or disabled some of the don't miss rides include The Liberty Belle Riverboat, Cinderella's Carrousel, Peter Pan's Flight, It's a Small World, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and the new Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger ride. The more adventurous folks should head for Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, The Haunted Mansion, and the Alien Encounter.
The entertainment at the Kingdom is nonstop and wonderful. Some of my family's favorites include the Main Street Electrical Parade, which is held at night. It is something not to be missed. There is also the Magical Moments Parade held each afternoon. Our all time favorite is Fantasy in the Sky, the fireworks show held by Cinderella's Castle every night. Be sure to watch the Castle carefully before the show, or you might miss Tinkerbell's flight over the crowds!
The employees (cast members) at Walt Disney World are some of the most professional, courteous, and customer service oriented workers I have ever encountered. I swear that they take daily doses of "happy pills". They do everything they can to ensure that you are happy during your visit. On many occasions I have witnessed how these people take the time to help calm an over stimulated youngster with a smile, trick, or even a Mickey Ice Cream Bar compliments of the "Big Mouse" himself.
I will continue to take my family to Walt Disney World every chance I get, and the Magic Kingdom will always be our first stop! I highly recommend that everyone visit the Magic Kingdom at least once. One warning - after visiting you may find yourself running to your local Disney Store for a quick "fix"!
