I recently bought a roundtrip ticket from NY to FL for $160 (including taxes) from Travelocity. It was recommended to me by a friend when I needed a quick trip to visit family. This was bought on less than 2 weeks notice and around the time of Thanksgiving.
I found the site incredibly easy to use. You can start with just entering where you want to go and it gives you the cheapest fares and breaks down the airlines. When you ask about a specific fare it tells you all of the days that that fare is available and even lets you pick a seat and whether or not you want a vegetarian meal. It does have the ability to put the miles on a frequent flyer account as well.
They also have a link that lets you send the information for your flight to people via email. So you can forward your flight information to your entire family at the same time.
I have never found a fare that cheap to Florida. I do suggest if you buy a ticket, to confirm the reservation with the airline. The phone numbers for the airline and customer service come with the electronic receipt.
