night flights

Most people hate going on red-eye flights. I for one like them. They are less crowded, quieter, and sometimes you can get a better price ticket on them. The great thing to me is that my kids will sleep on them!
When my kids were 3 and 1 I took a trip by myself to the midwest. I had to change planes in Phoenix both ways. On the way there we had a day flight and both kids were up most of the ride. This can get a bit stressful if you didn't bring enough toys to play with or food to eat. On the way home we took a red-eye flight on the last leg of the trip. They slept the whole ride home. It was great! Now maybe they were just tired out, but I think it being dark helped allot.
The down side is your body time clock gets off set a bit and you do have to sleep part of the next day away. For me it was great to have the kids quiet on that flight home.
