by cmeinoz | Jan 28 '00
Have you ever been to Orlando and it cost a fortune? Have you ever thought of going to Orlando but chose not to because it would cost too much money? Maybe you are just one of those people who wants to save as much money as possible and enjoy saving...

The first time I went on one was last year and I couldn't believe how easy it is! My husband and I are going to vacation again in Orlando this May and we are definately going to do it again! Pass up free money for 90 minutes of my time? Get real!

We are not rich people but do believe our son deserves a vacation to WDW, therefore I budget on a shoestring and get us there. Hubby is always pleased because we manage to stay at a five star resort for little or nothing.

We lodge at a timeshare resort on what is called an owner's promo. We get to stay in a $200-$250 dollar a night 2 bedroom villa for $97 a night (during Thanksgiving week). We always get a unit with a jacuzzi in the master bedroom. Hubby and I love this and I need it after carrying my extra weight ( I won't say how much) around through the parks all day. I enjoy the kitchen for breakfast and late night snacks. The resorts have so many activities we usually hang out their for two of our 6 days.

Most tours are high pressure, but give me a break it takes a complete Jellyfish to not have the strength to say no when someone is asking you to make a $10,000 committment you don't want to make. (I am originally from New Jersey, that makes it very easy for me to express myself.) Anyway just say no, get your tickets and count your savings all the way to the next vacation!

Westgates Vacation Villas, Vistana, Orange Lake and Isles of Bali are great for families.

Try it.

By the way we eventually plan to buy our own timeshare. We are saving up the cash. Resale is the way to go. NEVER BUY FROM THE DEVELOPER!

Going to high pressure timeshares presentations is not the way I care to spend a vacation. I'd rather just pay for the tickets and go to one of the Disney Parks. The presentations can last more than 90 minutes and they waste precious time.

Maybe it's OK for some folks but not for me.
