Why is it so hard to find cheap airfares to South America?

Finding cheap airfares to South America is not cheap. Let's consider this. YOu are flying from JFK to Sao Paulo, Brazil. A roundtrip ticket to Sao Paulo can cost you as much as $2000 and that's only for economy class or coach! Imagine what a First Class ticket costs. Even though the scenery is gorgeous and the Brazilians are friendly it maybe well worth it to spend 2000 for a ticket, but beware about your spending because by the time you get to Brazil you might not have any money left. Well, good luck and good hunting for those supposedly cheap airfares to Brazil.
