Hilton Honors Club rules!Nov 25 '00 Write an essay on this topic.Yes, rooms at Hilton hotels are a bit more expensive than those regular popular hotels such as Holiday Inn. (A regularly priced room at any Hilton hotel is about 25% more expensive than a room at Holiday Inn in the same region.) I am a member of Holiday Inn priority club and I do usually stay at Holiday Inn for my business trips to reduce some expense. But I just recently learned and joined this free Hilton Honors Club (HH club) after carefully reading their terms and conditions. This program covers not only Hilton hotels but also affiliated hotels such as Hampton Inn, Embassy Suites, Double Tree, Concord International hotels and Homewood Suites hotels. What is so special about this program? The most unique and advantageous thing about this program is that your one qualifying stay accounts for two great benefits (they called this as a double dipping). The first benefit is that a qualifying rate stay at one of those affiliated hotels can earn 500 miles (100 miles for Hampton Inn) worth of frequent flyer mileages of your choice from about 30 selected airlines. (Of course the program covers almost all the major domestic airlines.) The second benefit is that every dollar you spend earns 10 honor points. Those honor points can be used to receive various goods offered by their reward site. The popular items on the reward site are mini disc players, MP3 players, cameras, camcorders, watches and computers. The points necessary to redeem those items range widely from 45,000 to over 100,000 points. It is definitely worth it for you to visit the site to check out those rewards. Another popular way to benefit from those honor points is to either earn a 50% discount or to receive a free stay at those participating hotels. For as few as 2,500 points, a member can benefit from the 50% discount for a weekend stay. And a free stay at one of those hotels starts from 10,000 points. Those points can be also used to obtain a free car rental, vacation packages of your choice (Europe, Asia, Middle East, etc.), or a free 3 to 7 day cruise trip (either Carnival or Prince cruise) for as little as 185,000 points. After reviewing the details of those membership benefits, I am certain that my next business trip will end up at one of those hotels. |
