I was very happy with the service with which I thought I was treated until I went away for the weekend and checked my e-mail on Tuesday morning.
Due to a technical malfunction between Travelocity and my credit card lender my reservation was cancelled on Saturday morning at 2am. I know what you're thinking: that couldn't happen to me. With that thought in mind, pay attention. I called Travelocity's customer service and was told that my billing address was different from the one that I had entered. That was weird enough, so I called my credit card lender and confirmed that the address on record with them was the same as the one I had given to Travelocity. Weirder still. So I called Travelocity back, the agent ran the same card again and this time it worked. Problem solved, right?
WRONG... The fare that I had reserved and received an e-mail as confirmation on was no longer available. If I wanted a similar reservation I would have to pay $160 more for a booking on a different airline to a different airport and at a different time of the day. If I wanted the same flight that I had originally booked I would have to pay $300 more than what was quoted me.
Either way I LOSE because one day their verification system works and other days it just doesn't. There are circumstances beyond anyone's control it seems to reserve the flights that I want. This is disappointing for me but even more so for Travelocity because it's their business to make travel arrangements.
