They should bulldoze Opryland USA...Oh, wait, they HAVE bulldozed Opryland USA.
(I think you should rate this review "very useful" for that tid-bit alone. Don't you think its "very useful" to know that something reviewed does not actually exist?)
Opryland USA -- the themepark -- has been bulldozed and is now the site of a new, drum-roll please, shopping mall to be opened in late spring of 2000.
Oh, wait, but this is not just ANY mall, say its owners, Gaylord Entertainment and the Mills Company. Opry Mills will be one of those grand destination-shopping, entertainment-retailing experiences. A billion-square feet of Rain Forest Cafes, IMAX theatres and really cool Outlet stores.
The local wags are calling it "Shopryland"
Don't worry if you have reservations at the Opryland Hotel or want to attend the Grand Ole Opry at the Opry House....They were spared the bulldozer. Indeed, the Opryland Hotel is bigger -- we're talking 3,000-room Las Vegas-scale big (yet without the casino) -- than ever. And the Opry House is getting a new TV-friendly facade as part of the Opryland demolition-Shopryland development.
