Fellow Allergy Sufferers, Here Is Relief For Your Travels

May 28 '00

Living in California has its ups and downs. In a lot of ways, we'd rather hope to get the great perks that come in the forms of year round good weather. That's where the problems lie for most of us, sun worshippers. California has so many weather patterns that you can travel to the next nearby city and find it quite nice to live in. But be aware of the changes in the weather. With all these changes come the allergies. If you plan to live on the coastal cities of California without stepping foot in the central areas of the state, stop reading this review. But if you plan to travel up and down the state, be mindful of what I am going to share with you.

I was never an allergy sufferer until I went to college in the Central Valley. For a long time, I could not understand what was wrong with me. It was the worst feeling to know that you are having difficulty breathing and being outside to enjoy the weather. The truth is that all my life, I lived a few stone throws from the coast. I never knew the trapped pollution of the San Joaquin Valley. All I knew was to let my face and hair get gently caressed or hit by cool breezes. Since I have been living in this area, I get to travel up and down the state. If you know that the Central Valley is known as the fruit basket of the world, you will understand how an allergy sufferer can be affected by pollen.

For good reasons, May is known as the allergy month. Allergy sufferers take it seriously around here. What medicines have helped me combat these bouts?

I take Claritin D 24-hour. It helps clear my nose. It is such a headache to function with a stuffy nose. My case with allergies can get so bad that you can even see me cry in one eye. Or I just can't open the other eye. How about this itchy throat while you are in the meeting of an important meeting with a customer? If you name the symptoms, I have had them all. Claritin does help me!

I also take Allegra. At first, I thought it would not help that much. I told my wife it was just another new pill on the market. She persuaded me to try it. And I did. Actually, it does help me. In addition, when I am running short on the two previously mentioned pills, I take Suphedrin 24 coated caplets. They help me too. For sinus & nasal congestion, sinus headache, and sinus pain and pressure, you can take this over-the-counter pill for some relief. All of these medicines seem to have a few things in common: Acetaminophen, pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride. I guess you know how your body produces the chemical histamine in an effort to fight some of the allergy triggers (dog dander, pollen etc). Any antihistamine will help you too.

Now get ready to travel, but make sure you pack some allergy pills or travel medicines you will need!
