by psimon | Apr 03 '00
My family and I have been going to Disney World for the last 15 years. My parents have been coming with us for the last 3 years. Its great to go as a big group. In order to accommodate the 7 of us, we have always gotten 2 rooms at the hotels we have...

Not exactly sure what you mean by the point value.... If you are referring to the selling price (not the "rental" price) the value is going up. Now in order to buy in from Disney, the points are about $100 each! If you are renting from a DVC owner, the rental price is now $10-12 moving closer to $12 as time goes on. So, for example you could rent from me ( or any other DVC owner) and pay $1720 for a week at Old Key West, yet if you were to actually pay cash for that room, it would be closer to $3000 for the SAME ROOM! This is why DVC is a bargain!

I am curious- what keeps the "value" of a point from eroding? Meaning, 1 pt may equal $67.00 this year, but what if the hotel rates goes up, how does a point keep it's value? The whole point thing seems very shaky to me, rather than the typical time share structure which gives you a week every year for X number of years (for example). Does the value of a point get re-adjusted with inflation?

Buying or Selling Disney Vacation Club Resales is the way to go. You save money compared to the prices that Disney charges if you were to purchase your DVC Ownership directly from Disney World. You also have the opportunity to buy at Old Key West, Wilderness Lodge, Beach Club Villas, Boardwalk Villas, Hilton Head Resort and Vero Beach Resort. You can save a lot of money by not buying the brand new product from Disney. DVC does not discriminate because you bought through the resale market. Jaki Apetz at www.ResalesDVC.com has been specializing in DVC Resales since 1998. Give her a call at 866-544-2919 and she can answer ANY question concerning DVC Resales and the Disney Vacation Club timeshare plan.
