This site has grown increasingly useful over time. You can now easily book airfares, hotels, car rentals, and other travel services which I have not personally used yet.
Travelocity offers a great service in their FareWatcher email. You create a list of 5 round trips and every time the price changes by more than 30 dollars, you get an email stating the new price. Because airfares are subject to change so rapidly, this is really a helpful service. It has saved me a great deal of money on multiple occasions.
I buy etickets from Travelocity almost every single time I fly (which is relatively often - 4-5 times a year), and I have never had a problem. This says a lot, considering the airline industry as a whole certainly does not have as strong of a reputation. I actually feel more comfortable buying tickets from Travelocity than directly from airlines' websites or travel agents (who are ALWAYS more expensive).
Eticketing is wonderful - travelocity sends you a confirmation sheet through the US mail quite soon after you purchase your tickets online. The mailing includes your itinerary, airline locator number and confirmation number, and Travelocity confirmation number - in short, all that you need to fly.
Once I received notification from Travelocity that my flight status had changed. I was at first alarmed, but it turned out to be a 15 minute change in arrival time on one leg of my journey. Travelocity gave me the option of canceling my ticket with no penalty because of this change. Of course I didn't take them up on this, but it was certainly nice to have this option.
In short, I trust Travelocity more than a travel agent and more than the airlines I fly. I have made hotel reservations via this website also without any problems. I would certainly recommend the convenience of this site.
