Those Canadians know how to work up a sweat! Get in the pool! This past week we took a 1100 mile road trip to British Columbia, &, Alberta, Canada in our RV. Our goal was to relax, & to enjoy the Fall color of the Canadian Rockies. We discovered 3 hot springs along the route. There are more hot springs in BC & Alberta -- so I guess we will have to go back to check them out, & write a future epinion. The most northern hot springs we went to was Miette Hot Springs. This hot springs is about 45 minutes out of Jasper, Alberta, on a nicely paved two-lane road. The road closes once the snow gets too heavy -- staff told me they close Oct 10th this year. So those wanting to get to this hot springs may have to wait until next Spring. Miette Hot Springs had the hottest water of the 3 hot springs we went too. 104F was the standard here. The view of the nearby mountains was very nice -- a light dusting of snow was on the peaks. Snow also was melting from the buildings on tis property. The dressing rooms were immaculate, & very orderly, easy to use. The charge was $4.50 Canadian -- a bargain. There was a "cool pool" with a plastic penquin floating in it -- no way this hedonist could get in that cold water though. We tolerated about an hour of this heat & ventured south to our next hot springs.Radium Hot Springs is located at the SW entrance of Kootenay National Park. I enjoyed this hot springs the most of the 3 we went too. This hot springs is in a canyon & the view from the springs is awesome. Cliffs across the way almost talk -- the native Canadians from years ago had held this area as a almost sacred area. The natural hot water is about 101F -- we were good for about 2 hours in this water. There was another cold pool for swimming -- not a soul was there on the day we were at Radium Hot Springs. The charge for this hot springs was $5 Canadian. The dressing rooms again were perfectly clean, orderly, & well set up. There was a gift shop nearby, along with a coffee
