USA Student Travel, a drunken orgy?
Jan 26 '00
My senior trip entailed visiting Puerto Vallarta Mexico with USA Student Travel and getting totally hammered every night.
USA Student Travel is a company specializing in discounts for students to travel to various locations such as Cancun or Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. USA Student Travel made the trip sound like a trip filled with fun in the sun including snorkeling, kayaking, cruises, beach parties and other such events.
Nightlife
Upon reaching the destination, our advisors informed us that we would be doing a club crawl. Now "club crawl" meant that we would hit every club along the strip and then try to make it home by walking, stumbling or crawling. We were all perfectly happy with the idea due to the fact that we were unsupervised, had all the alcohol we could ask for, and everyone was extremely horny; mix the three and watch what happens! Well, most of us ended up crawling home that night. The rest of the trip, the nightlife pretty much was similar to the first night. Go out, make your way to the clubs, and get pi** drunk.
Daytime events
USA Student travel gave students the option to be included in various events. Most events were free of charge to get to the destination, but activities and other extras cost an arm and a leg. We went on two cruises, and both times everyone was either blitzed or hung over. The ocean water was rather disgusting near the city, but outside of it the water was nice. Most of the beaches were very beautiful with plenty of sun to get burned in. All in all, the daytime events get a rating of B-.
Food
USA Student travel usually supplied us with one or two meals a day. The food was served buffet style for free or discounted at local eating establishments. The water was usually well treated in all the restaurants USA Student Travel took the students to. As for taste, the food deserves a C-.
Accommodations
The accommodations were extremely nice. Hotels included wonderful scenery and beautiful pools. Service was very good and the rooms were magnificent. Rating A.
In closing, if you are a parent trying to decide whether or not to allow your child to go with USA Student Travel, if your child is responsible there is no reason for him/her to not go. If you are a student planning on going, all I can tell you is that I had a crazy time and trust me that you will too.
