I've been to this casino several times and it's a great place to go for some relaxation and fun! It's located in Uncasville, Connecticut off Route 2A on Mohegan Sun Boulevard and the area is beautiful.
My review will not be to tell you how much fun it is to go there or how exciting it is if you win but rather some advice on what to do before and after you get there! These tips are meant to make your trip more enjoyable with less disappointment whether you win, lose or break even!
Some tips to follow before you leave to go there:
1)Fill your gas tank before leaving because if you get carried away, you'll find yourself up the creek if your tank is empty and you lost all your money!
2)Bring a watch with you because as with most casinos, clocks are scarce as they don't want you to leave before they get all your money!
3)Leave your checkbook and your credit cards home because even a person with great self control can get caught up in the moment and spend far more than you want to!
4)Only take what cash with you that you can afford to spend and allow yourself a few bucks for your meal while you're there!
5)Go with confidence but keep in mind that these places are geared to make money for themselves and only a select few people walk away a winner!
Some tips to follow when you get there:
1)The first thing to do is to go to The Players Club and ask to get a card. You will need a driver's license or some other type of picture ID to get one! The card can be used to earn points that you can use for meals or merchandise. Each slot machine has a place to put one in before playing and when you first put it in, you can see what you've accumulated each time you start playing. That's how I got my shirt back.....by using my points to get one on the way out!
2)If you're hungry when you get there, I would suggest that you eat first because later on, you may not have the money to! They have a great buffet there for around $11.00 a head and it's well worth it with enough items to pacify even the pickiest eater's appetite!
3)While in the casino, you can get coffee, tea or soda for free just by asking one of the girls when they go by! I didn't drink anything alcoholic while I was there but I do believe they charge you for those types of drinks!
4)I'm not quite sure how the points are calculated but I have noticed that they add up a lot faster if you play for a few then cash out and start again.
5)My last bit of advice is to just relax and have a good time! If casino games aren't your thing, they also have bingo halls where you can play for big bucks. You also have the choice of regular bingo (dabbing cards) or bingo in the video room (no dabbing required except for the quickies). Both are VERY exciting because the money is big and they even play for cars and things of that nature!
Now I don't consider myself a big gambler because I usually only bring about $100.00 and once it's gone, I'm gone and I only bring what I can afford to lose! The last time I went down there, I lost what little money I brought but I had a great meal and even brought back something for each of my kids out of the points I accumulated! This is a fun place to go to filled with big excitement and I would highly recommend it for someone just wanting to get away from it all!
