I see a ot of reviews that say Amtrak sucks. It's too late for us now. We have to go to Baltimore on Amtrak. Airplane is too expensive right now for us. I have to tell you I'm a bit terrified of trains especially after seeing the movie Unbreakable. My trip is supposed to be a 24 hour trip too. Soon as I get back I will write a review on it. LOL I thought your review was great, just break it up into paragraphs. It makes it look better. =0) Peaches00

While the opinion made its point, very clearly, it was in spite of poor grammar and spelling. I understand that Epinions is for "the common person," but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't correct your misspellings.
I do have one question, though: if you had to sit next to a smelly person, on a plane flight, or if your plane was delayed for 5 hours, would you have written such a scathing review of that airline? Why is everyone so judgmental of Amtrak?

I too am an Amtrak victim (see the gory details of MY Amtrak experience here on epinion-- I won't waste space with it here). Your opinion pretty much echoed my experience with Amtrak.
Never again. Never.

I just made the trip from Virginia to Florida in a car with two kids. It took two days, many potty breaks, food from one end of the mini van to another, fights about radio stations, juice boxes and you name it. I think the idea is just not to travel long distances. lol. Florida was great though, I got to meet my hero, Winnie the Pooh, which made it all worth while. :-)

Why do you make the assumption, 'someone with multiple accounts.' Also, what insults were directed towards you? Once again you SHOW your thin skin!! Why can't anyone disagree with you? Why do you have to take a cheap shot? If you really are the 'keep smilin' person you wish to be, you would agree that your opinion is awful. Nice story but the spelling and grammar is terrible. Animal Farm continues to reign here at epinions.com.

LOL this is obviously someone with a multiple account as you can see this person has written 0 epinions and has been a member awhile now lol So all I can say is that your hiding and insulting whoever you are is going to have little impact on me :)

Thank you for the opinion, we were going to take the train up to the central coast in April (a 5.5 hr drive) but I think we will reconsider!! :-)

This was a very poorly written review! It's amazing to me that so many people gave it a "highly recommended". Poneyby needs to spend more time on the quality of his reviews. For instance, it should be "our train" not "are train" and "meet my parents at there house" should be "meet my parents at their house." If we are going to give people a "highly recommended"....let's make sure they deserve it!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have brought back memories of my husbands and my first and last journey on Amtrak!
For starters, the guy in front of us stunk so bad.
Then on the trip home, some guy decided to drive his car in front of our train.
We were sitting in the dining car near the kitchen, so we got to hear all the staffs accounts of previous "train stories".
An adventure I won't soon forget! LOL

Got stuck sitting next to a guy who was coughing up a lung ughh.. I wish I was rich then I would just fly my private jet anywhere i wanted to go :)
