Pros: good way to get attention Cons: not the iMac
I didn't like the commercial (product wise),not because of it's execution but for the product.I am an avid mac lover.Yet the way the commercial was made was good.It accomplished it's mission, people watched the commercial.I wonder how many people say the...

Pros: New and different idea Cons: Terrible timing for content
The ad seems to focus around the gun being fired, rather than comparing computers. I don't feel that people will bond with the ad.
With the current anti-gun atmosphere in the congress and administration I believe this ad's timing is very poor...

Pros: Any ad that runs is better than no ad Cons: Almost any ad would be better than this one
This is another example of ad agency creative work gone bad because the client didn't have the courage of his/her convictions.
I can't believe that anyone over 25 at Epinions.com would like this spot. The agency folks (of whom I was one for...

Pros: It gets my attention; Shows proper handling of guns Cons: Script and delivery is hard to follow
O.K. It caught my attention, but the script needs work. The impact should not end in the first few frames... say something! A little more clarity (and maybe my RealPlayer was letting me down a bit), but the spot would have much more impact if the...

Pros: Good idea about the info re- the mac Cons: Guns just aren't a very good idea now with all the violence in schools and all the candidates for president stirring up the issue ever time you turn on the t.v.
Good idea, but need to do away with the gun. Why not show the Imac dying a slow death in cyberspace with some good effects. Like a dying sun or something like that, with lots of information just going by the Imac instead of the Imac receiving it....

Pros: Anti-Imac Cons: handgun used to express dissatisfaction
Even though I am in total agreement with the opinion expressed about Imacs,I would not want my sons to watch this commercial due to the use of a handgun as a way of expressing dissatisfaction with, well, anything. I am happy to see that safe range...

Pros: Confronts fear of guns. Promotes firearms safety. Cons: Could send the wrong signal. Not that I care except that the kids of today have to deal with the influence of a liberal society like kids of my era didn't.
All right, I checked out the pilot ad Epinions.com iMac Ad at http://www.epinions.com/tvad-iMac and listened to Jay give his opinion of the Apple iMac.
Jay's a regular guy, like you and me, spending a...

Pros: Violence Cons: Attention getting
This commercial, while effective at getting a persons attention, would likely cause quite a stir due to the recent episodes of gun violence. To be associated with any form of gun violence is not very desirable, particularly in view of the recent mindless...

Pros: None Cons: promotes guns and violence as an answer to problems
Although I feel that he was using a dramatic effect to get his point across about his feelings on the IMAC I feel that using a gun puts out a bad message.
With the violence in our workplaces and schools at an all time record high I think in a minor...

Pros: The shooter has an opinion Cons: the reviewer's opinion is so weak he has to use a gun to make it worth paying attention to
There are always many ways to sell a product or service, and nowadays, the more interesting the better. So at first glance, it might seem hip to sell the Epinions concept by featuring a real guy with a gun shooting an iMac Elvis-style. It's edgy. It...

Pros: Says "No" to imac forcefully Cons: Involves children with Beanie Baby insert
This commercial does not emphasize anything except how to use a gun if you do not like something. The focus on the gun causes the viewer to barely notice anything else. A more creative, less violent method of dealing with the subject would surely have...

Pros: Cute Humour Cons: Will hit hot buttons
For a cute as the humour is, unfortunately it will set off too many hot buttons, particularly given the rash of fatal shootings. I tend to have a fair degree of foresight, so I would predict this commercial won't last on TV much more than one week. ...

Pros: none Cons: it is mean to a wonderful product
This commercial should have been put up in quicktime. Real is a resource hogging sinister program. quicktime is a well accepted standard for pre-recorded video. it is important to use quicktime in future commercial distribution because of it's superior...

Pros: Macs rule and always will Cons: round mouse hurts my hand a bit Pc's are worse
Ok this guy jay is probably just a stupid peecee user who hates things that he doesn't understand. I myself use multiple computers running multiple OSes such as Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS, Windows, and hehe even FlEX HAHAA. And I have an iMac myself too. I...

Pros: Humor, attention-getter Cons: unclear endorsement
If I saw this ad on TV, it would definitely get my attention. The fact that some (or all) Mac users might get offended by this only makes it more controversial, but like Jay said, this is a head-turner.
The only issue is deciphering what this...
