Rick's ad was an impressive and clever approach. He chose to show the viewer first-hand how effective his product (the tent) was. Torture-testing his tent while going through a car wash was very creative and it illustrated his point much better than simply stating that the tent could hold up to the rigors of a car wash.
I also appreciated the fact that he spoke clearly and faced the camera, although it was at times difficult to understand him due to the external noise from the car wash. I could, however, clearly make out important points he spoke of regarding his tent, including the fact that he had also spent many rainy nights in it outdoors.
This is a highly effective review because we can witness the product's capability ourselves instead of having to rely completely on what someone else says about it. I can't think of anything better I'd like to see in a product review than the demonstration of the product's effectiveness or incompetence.
After reading Rick's written review of this product, I found that this ad makes a wonderful visual aid to supplement it. Together, they present a highly effective review for the tent in question. I only hope to see more commercial product reviews follow in the footsteps of this one.
