There are better and more effective pumps on the market. This pump is underpowered thus making it slow. It can't double pump and is loud. Although the battery model has its uses, the Rochelle Enterprises Breast Pump model "Pump Perfect" can be used with the parts you already own from Medela's rental "Classic or Lactina". This pump is 1/3 the cost and can pump both breast at the same time in 15 min. You can pump in an automobile using and optional 12VDC converter. The Rochelle Enterprises Breast Pump "Perfect Pump" combines the best of Medela in a price range you can afford. Check it out at www.mindspring.com/~tarochelle
