Picture this...A nursing mom sitting on her couch with a strange looking contraption attached to one breast. There is a rather loud noise emitting from the object and it appears that milk is beginning to fill the container attached to it. This is how the Epinions "Breast Pump" commercial begins.
I think you have to have been a nursing mom at some time in your life to really appreciate this commercial. I thought it was hysterical... The part where the cat was trying to get the milk was priceless!
My personal feelings aside, as a commercial promoting the Epinions.com site, I don't think it would fly. I'm sorry to say that after nursing my two children for a combined total of almost 6 years, I have seen how non-nursing woman or men have reacted to the whole idea.
People are so funny sometimes. They have no problem seeing a naked woman on a movie screen, but heaven forbid they see a glimpse of a woman's breast who is nursing her baby! The idea of a woman actually sitting there and demonstrating a breast pump (an item most people, unless they've used one or been married to someone who used one, have never seen), I'm sure would be shocking. Too shocking for most of the people I've come across. And to actually see breast milk!!! Oh my goodness!
I thought the dumbfounded expression on the pizza boys face was a riot also! I would love to say this commercial should be used, but I just can't imagine it would be widely accepted. I think it may get the Epinions name out just on shock value alone...but I don't think that is the way Epinions wants to become known.
But that's just my "Epinion".
