Advertising What?

Yes, Commercials are supposed to grab your attention, and yes this might generate lots of hits, but this is how the commercial thing goes. Having worked in an advertising firm for 5 years, it is a general rule that what you're advertising must be clearly understandable. It is not understandable what you are advertising in this commercial. the second objection I have is that unless you are talking political campaigns, you may compare products, but never bring one down for the sole purpose of the joy of bringing it down. One must have an appropriate reason to compare products, you have none. This comes across as nothing but that which it is, the fun of destroying something that is expensive. It is the same way the rock stars smash their hundred dollar guitars, or music videos smash expensive cars (aka Korn in their video of "Got The Life"). It is mindless destruction and comes across as such. You say you are not a gun toting manic, but you come across as such. There is no reason to destroy this piece of machinery, because any normal person would just sell it and buy something new. You do not relate to the viewer. I know you are planning to say "Lots of people feel the need to throw their computer off the roof or kick it once in a while, they will relate." They will not. People who actually go through with this are sent to anger-control classes. Also, before making a comment such as that you might check the statistics on how satisfied owners of iMacs are (over 86% in fact). This is mindless, and a poor excuse for anything remotely close to advertising. Anyone saying anything different is just drawn to it for the destructive nature of it, or the putting down of Apple; neither of which helps any corporation involved.
