I'm currently going back to see what I've missed as far as reading your Epinions go. At one time, I was under the impression that you had more Epinions written because you wrote such long comments. I was surprised to come here at one time and realize that I hadn't read everything (that is, in the way of actual Epinions) that you'd written. But it seemed like it, because of the comments.
Anyway, I almost did something I'd never done before: give you an R instead of an HR because I found this piece to be a little bit confusing upon first read.
But I went back and read it again. It still seems confusing in spots, but this is good, because it reflects the confusion re: this ad.
As usual, a great job--though I've found the other Epinions you've written to be better than this particular one. :o)

you need to get busy and write some more reviews! I've now fully backtracked, and read all of your reviews backwards, so it's time you wrote some more!
Ahem, and aren't you late on quite a few write offs? LOL. Geez, I'm gonna be out of Basic Training before you around get around to participating in mine! But ya know I still love ya anyway - :)
Why have I never seen any of these commercials? I've seen plenty of reviews of them, but never on TV...on what channels are they shown?

You hit the nail on the head when you point out that the author states that he does not own an iMac, and therefore his credibility is destroyed.
That is my problem with that ad. With all the fantastic and authoritative epinions, on every subject under the sun, why choose one written by a NON-consumer? How is this epinion representative of the site?
And if the point was to portray humor, why not turn to some of our outstanding humorists? Conglomerate Most Hated. Cowboydj. Badbob. Even, dare I say it? La Parka.
Okay, I'm done. I'll go away and try to become margomargo-lite.

Thank you for your review. Also, *Gulp* I believe you are right with respect to the "tongue-in-cheek" aspect of the commercial... I may well have taken it too seriously. Look for 29th_Candidate-lite in future reviews.

I think your review gets your point across well, is well written, and thorough which is why I gave you a HR. However, I think you may be taking the commercial a little too seriously. I believe that it was written tongue in cheek and the focus of it was not to put down iMacs but to show someone voicing a strong opinion.
