About 2manykids
I'm from Shelton, Washington, even though I haven't lived there in 18 years. I'm 37 years old, am a Master Sergeant in the Air Force and am an avionics technician by trade. The aircraft photo you see above is none other than a KC-135R aerial tanker. It's job is to pass fuel to other aircraft inflight. It looks boring but it's the lynchpin of our entire air fleet. It's also a fun beast to work on. I spent 18 years as an electronics weenie on these, and on various B-52 bombers. It isn't making me rich but I'm not about that anyway. I've travelled quite a bit: Japan, Australia, Thailand, Korea, Panama, the Philippines, Guam, Portugal, and a tiny little island called Diego Garcia. I've been fortunate so see most of the western United States as well. I have one concrete rule for foreign living: if millions of locals eat it, it's probably great, so try it. This extends to everything from Japanese sashimi, to Korean dogs, to steamed rice bugs in Thailand (they look like big roaches and taste like cashews).

I write Epinions in the hope that my life's experiences--some good, others horrific--will help someone in their own life. I hope I'm at least a little successful in this.

I have a terrific wife and five really good kids, ranging from Hiedi, the family genius, to Alex, who has autism and has taught me loads about the value of patience. I'm an eternal student, currently finishing two associate and one bachelor's degree, and pursuing my airframe and powerplant licenses so I can find good employment in the civil aviation industry. Don't worry, I won't cater the food.

Updates: my apologies for going so many weeks without a valid e-mail address. My ISP and I had a billing disagreement and I decided they are better off without my business. I'm now waiting for DSL to become available in my area. OTHER NEWS: my stepdaughter's adoption process is moving along well. I've got permission from the natural father and am just waiting on the court date. I'm within ten months of completing my Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics, can't wait to get rid of the full-time class load. I'm already looking into a Master's program regarding aviation management and system safety. Why? I dig days filled with bad coffee and useless committee meetings. Management, here I come!

Regards, Dave
