About Korova
Hi there, everybody. Many thanks to all who visit me here or read my reviews.
Just some news:
Congratulations to all newly-named Editors and Top Reviewers. (RANT ON: But the fact that I should have to post a photo of myself in order to become a Featured Reviewer is ridiculous. I don't post my email for privacy reasons - although anyone who desperately wanted it could probably find it - and putting up a photo of myself is an even worse idea. RANT OFF)
I've promised for a long time to do Split Enz's True Colours . One day, I shall post an entry.

Coming up are reviews of Branagh's Henry V , which I was hugely impressed with, and possibly Welles' Othello . I'm on a Shakespeare kick. I might have to update my "10 Best Musicals..." review, to include the `Non Nobis' scene of the Branagh film.

Oh yeah - I have intentions to write on the book of Rosemary's Baby .

If you have a look at my reviews, I assure you, the least I do is read over yours. It's just polite, and kinda enjoyable.

Since most of my reviews are on movies, they also make up a lot of the reviews I read. Even so, don't think I will only read your reviews if they are about movies. Films are just my main interest in epinions, not my obsession.

Just thought I'd make these a little more available:
(some of these were written a while ago, when I wasn't as developed a writer as I am now. I plan to update several of them)
Truly GREAT Films:
The Thin Blue Line (My favourite of my own reviews)
The Lost Weekend
JFK
Heavenly Creatures

Classic Films:
A Streetcar Named Desire (my most detailed review)
The Birth of a Nation
Deliverance
The Elephant Man
Henry V (1944)

Bad Classic Films
Gone With The Wind
Anchors Aweigh
Pulp Fiction (more of a modern classic, but still bad)
How Green Was My Valley
The Informer
Pygmalion
Ivanhoe

Horror/Thriller Films:
Rosemary’s Baby
Peeping Tom
Knife in the Water

Recent Films:
Planet of the Apes
Moulin Rouge
The Mummy Returns
Memento (includes a short discussion, as well as the review)

The TRULY CRAP Films:
Saving Private Ryan (probably my most controversial, but surprisingly well-accepted)

One thing I do like, though, is reading reviews with a totally opposite viewpoint to mine. Reading people's `I love Saving Private Ryan' or `I hate Memento' are interesting...as long as they're well written reviews.

When reading my reviews, can I ask that, unless my spelling is actually wrong, please don't criticise it. I am not American, and spell words like colour, travelling, recognise, etc in the way I was taught to and in the way that is correct here. If I actually misspell a word, then fine, but if I'm just using the English spelling, please respect that American spelling looks a little odd to me. :)

Many thanks for all your support and ratings!
