About me
I'm from the eastern part of the Netherlands, close to the German border. Me, nor anyone I know, wear wooden shoes, own a windmill or grow tulips..lol
I'm a Digital Communications major at Tilburg University, but I'm not very computer literate yet. If you think something's fool proof, let me test it...I may be blonde but as my science teacher once said: "If it can explode, you'll find a way to blow it up."
About Epinions
The thought of getting paid to voice my opinion was very appealing. I ended up liking the writing part better than the earning part. On the day I write this, I have earned a wopping $1.92 in the one and a half months I have been an Epinions member. But I really like to write so that makes up for my meagre earnings.
I actually thought I might make a good journalist at some point in my life. Two semesters of Journalism ended that illusion; I couldn't handle the stress involved and I rediscovered my need for a bit of seclusion every now and then. Working so closely together with the others in my group made me want to scream.
Epinions is now giving me the chance to write and to observe people in an online environment...no deadlines, no coffee, no cigarette smoke flooding the room...I love it!
About books
I really like to read, but nowadays I seem to end up reading mostly textbooks. Almost every summer I have a 'project', a book I've always wanted to read but never came around to.
I dislike people telling me what to do, and I'm not very comfortable with traditional notions of Literature and mere normal reading matter. In my opinion, Literature is a very personal thing, not a set list of books you really need to read. I like J.K. Rowling better than Kafka, does that make me a total barbarian? I think not.
About music
I like many different kinds of music. In a desperate attempt to bring some order into my life, I've arranged the CD's alphabetically. From Brooks, Meredith to Skunk Anansie there's a lot of different sights to see: I have Morissette, Alanis, The Fugees and oldies like The Rolling Stones and the Kinks, well, you get the idea.
I find reviewing music rather hard. Often when I listen too closely to an album I absolutely adore, I will find something wrong with it. I guess you can't analyze magic because it's more than the sum of the parts. In spite of that, I will do my best to convince the world my opinion is the best...LOL
