I am a 1997 graduate from Ohio University. The school is located in Athens, Ohio which is located in Athens County. Someone could have varied the names of the city and the county. That would give the Appalachian natives something do to, because they sure aren't working: Athens County is the poorest county in Ohio.
Upon graduation, my attraction to economic despair took me to the Detroit area. I spent close to 3 years experiencing the various shades of urban blight that Detroit has to offer. I passed several of the hotels that Jack "Dr. Death" Kevorkian used to euthanize people while on my hour-long drive to work each morning.
For a time I worked about 3 miles away from Pontiac, a city which convicted a 13 year old boy for a murder he committed at age 11. Yep, there's a lot to live for in Detroit.
But now I live in Portland, Oregon, and thoughts of sucking on my car's tailpipe like a bong are a thing of the past.
I mainly joined Epinions to help a friend make ends meet. Boy, those royalties sure add up, don't they?
