I suppose I should finally break down and include a bit about myself. Im a 22 year old graduate of St. Lawrence University. I majored in writing and history, both being my passion but neither of which will get me a job in my hometown of Plattsburgh, NY. So instead I've now moved to Arizona where I'm working on getting my MFA in fiction writing.
I have a wonderful boyfriend who Im trying to get to consider writing on epinions. Who knows maybe youll see him around at some point but as hes currently working away revising his childrens book I dont expect that will be any time soon. Other loves of my life are the small furry creatures that keep finding me. By this I mean they actually tend to show up on my doorstep. Ive begun naming my pets after characters from some of my favorite books. At the moment I have a mouthy Siamese mix kitten named Thursday Next from Jasper Ffordes The Eyre Affair, who I admit I may actually have more stumbled upon myself. Next, is Sameth, named after the character from Garth Nixs Lirael and Abhorsen. Sameth was abandoned at my house a year ago. Then theres Galadriel (Gilly for short) dually named after The Lord of the Rings and The Great Gilly Hopkins by Katherine Patterson. She was living at a local boarding school and despite being horribly ill was not treated as she was considered not as important as the other animals living there. Next comes the trio of Buddy, Kodi, and Rebel who have rather uninspired names but I excuse myself since I was eleven when I named them. Poor Rebel is the dog of the bunch but I dont think he minds since he adores chasing cats. I dont think he cares that he weighs ninety pounds and they way significantly less. Needless to say my pets are a huge part of my life. Every year yet another cat shows up at my door and every year I have to try to lure it in and find a home for it. My biggest suggestion is to spay or neuter your pet and if you can no longer care for it please consider bringing it to a no-kill shelter.
